30 Dec 2001: Moved entire Wanless Web site to different hosting company & pathname, due to problems accessing old host. This means everybody needs to update their browser bookmarks (favorites) to point to the new site and to their individual trees if you have such bookmarks. Changed my contact address, although the old email will continue to work. Updated 1880 US census, 1871 Canada census, 1841 & 1891 English census, and ALL the trees at Wanless Web - some only had file paths changed, most had small accumulations of corrections or additions. Merged line of Hannah Wanless & Wm Evans of Canada from the "unattached" database into Bruce Bagnall's database - proof provided by a family bible provided by Michael Kinsey. Added Michael to Researcher Registry. Added several entries to 1900 US census (these are either not indexed by genealogy.com or are indexed incorrectly, so we didn't find them under the usual spellings earlier). Merged database 32 (new Bay City Michigan) into 26 (already!) as ties were found to the Wanless family of Chatham, Ontario. Tree 17 was merged with tree 24 (John Alexander Wanless & Mary Isabella Shepherd are descended from John Wanless & Elizabeth Turner), and this database was greatly enhanced with descendants of James Wanless & Margaret Blackhall of Newbottle, by new member Graham Charles Wanless. Added final entry to 1871 Canada census - we now supposedly have all the Wanlesses in this census. Updated Researchers page to reflect various database merges & new researchers. Added index to wills proved at Durham, England. On Photos page & non-genealogical page, added Google search of the Web for Wanless images (type in your own spelling). Added many Hartburn-area marriages & baptisms to the UK marriages & baptisms files; added new UK burials file. Added new small file of miscellaneous Hartburn-area records. New file of English People with Wan(d)less as a first or middle name (marriages/births cross-matched to some 1881 census entries). 19 June 2001: Merged data from the Scottish Church Records database & Romeril film into Database 11. Added most of the birth & marriage records through the early 1900s from the Romeril film to the Scottish Church Records database, also added many 1881 Scotland census records to the appropriate families. Moved all the records of people born or married in Dundee, Angus, Scotland from the Scottish Church Records database into a new Dundee database. Moved these databases up to Trees section of Databases page & gave them numbers 27 and 27a. Fixed some location name typos in the Romeril file.

Integrated database #3b (John Wanless & Maria Gates) into 3a (Thomas Wanless & Elizabeth Jones), as the evidence now conclusively shows they are all in the same family. Added new database #22, descendants of James Wanless & (1)Margaret Baxter & (2)Margaret Halket, from Dundee, Scotland to Ontario, Canada; includes the line of James Wanlis & Margaret Baxter originally from the ScotsRecords database. Updated the "unattached" database with about 50 new folks in 17 families and removed a few folks who had been identified as being part of other families. 10 Dec 2000: Added huge new database of Scottish church records (922 people!), a dozen new census entries to the 1861 Durham census, list of Wanlesses buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colorado, new database #20 for Claire Wandless's Durham/Yorkshire ancestry, new database #21 for Alex Marshall's Lancashire Wanless ancestry. Replaced Database #12 (James Wanlass & Margaret Neilson of Scotland & Utah) with Alona Perkes's more complete version of this family. Updated databases 3a and "unattached" with minor additions. Added Researchers Randy Thompson, Alex Marshall, Cindi Barnes. Separated "non-genealogical Wan(d)less websites and Wan(d)less geographical places" into 2 pages & added some English places & non-genealogical websites and references. Rebuilt the Home page to reflect new structure, moved the Search into the table, made cosmetic/organizational changes. Repaired Databases #3 (George Wanless & Mercime Riddell) and #3b (Mexico-Arizona), removing several incorrect incidents where a father appeared to marry his son's wife, due to a bug in my genealogy program (since fixed). Updated Database #2 (George Wanless & Bessie Carnes) with some details on Outward and Taylor descendants in West Virginia. Reorganized Databases page to move English census data closer to new PRO index listings.

27 Sept 2000: Added complete Soundex extracts of the 1900 and 1910 census for Pennsylvania. Updated database #8 with data from Carol Ellis and removed several newly identified members of this family from the "unattached" database. Updated the "unattached" database with some Pennsylvania 1890 data. Added new database #18: descendants of William Wanless (1800-1884) and his wives (1) Ursula English and (2) Isabella Kilpatrick. Updated Sangamon database #7 with some 1851 and 1881 English census data & possible birth data for earliest ancestors. Photo page: added photos relating to Database #2 (Cheviot Hills area inhabited by early Wanlesses) and added photo of Nancy Dilley Wanless (Holly's gg-grandmother).

22 August 2000: Database 2a: Consolidated the line of James Harvey Wandless into the main Pittsburgh data, using census data as proof of James's parentage. Added some birth years & census data to Harvey R. Wandless line. Database 17: Earliest ancestors in the tree have been identified as John Alexander Wanless & Mary Isabella Shepherd, via son William's Social Security application. Made minor additions and corrections to databases 1, 15, 16. Updated the "unattached" database with some Wanlesses in Schuylkill Co, PA circa 1900. Added parents to Garnet & Earl Wanless in database 2e. Numbered database #3's sub-databases.

9 August 2000: Added file of Wandlesses in the 1890 Pittsburgh city directory (see Databases page or Pittsburgh database #2a for link). Made minor updates to Database #s 2a, 4, 15, 16, and 17. 25 July 2000: Added a search engine to the front page! Added new database for descendants of William Wanless, son of John Wanless & Isabella Ewen, courtesy of Sharon Pratt Wilbur. Moved Marya & Elaine's "descendants of Gilbert Wanless" tree from the unattached database to Sharon Wilbur's database, as the connection between their 2 families seems pretty solid now. Added file of Wanless/Wandless names found in the Ohio Death Certificate index. Converted most of the databases from Family Origins to Legacy for smaller page count and more control over web page building. Updated "unattached" database. Reorganized Databases page somewhat.
