Collections for the "Pallatine Brief" - Hartington, Farnelaws - Stephen Wanless, 6 shillings (Presumably a collection in support of the 7000 or so protestants from the Palatine region of Germany who emigrated via England to America and Ireland in that year). Rothbury - 1727 "List of Poor maintained by parish" includes "Eleanor Wanless 01-00-00" (one pound) Hartburn - in 1740, Robert Wanles was a church warden Hartburn March 21st. 1741 - Elected to "Four and Twenty" 9.
