Cheviot Hills Area, with Wanless farms marked

Several Wanless families have been traced back to the Cheviot Hills area of Scotland in the 1700s.
This map, from Bartholomew's Maps, has the primary locations of these families colored in by John Ayton.
The scale is 2 miles per 1 inch. The dark line running crookedly down the middle (labeled Pennine Way)
is the current England/Scotland border, but historically this border fluctuated back and forth in this area, and
parts that are now England were once Scotland.
See databases 2 and 3 at Wanless Web for details on these families.
