Letter from John W. Nottingham (son of Henry & Martha Wanless Nottingham) written 10 May 1864 mentions that James Wanless was wounded, but not badly, in the recent battle that was currently raging near Spotsylvania Courthouse. [in Potts/Nottingham file]
