    • 8 Nov 1842: Bath co VA school records "for the tuition of poor children" show the following children of Thomas Wanless enrolled in school for the previous 5 months:
Lovenia Wanless, age 10, attended 96 days a 5 cents/day, $4.80 due; studied reading, writing, geography (texts listed)

      ------
I assume all children born in the 1840s were born in Bath Co because Thomas was there in the 1840 census and at estate sales there through 1844. Don't know when he moved from his father's farm in the Huntersville area back to Bath Co near his uncle Stephen (some time between 1830 and 1840).
      ------
1844 Oct 10: Bath Co VA sale of estate of Chestnut Holcomb includes bond of Thomas Wandless dated 2 Oct 1841 with credit paid 9 June 1843. [Bath Co Will Bk 5, p.87]

1844 Nov 29: Bath Co - in the settlement of the estate of Adam Lightner, there was a credit to Thomas Wanless's bond on Nov 29. [Bath Co Will Bk 5, p.91]

1852 March: T. Wanless listed as debtor/creditor to estate of Peter H. Rider. [Bath Co Will Bk 5, p.480] p.186 mentions interest on this bond from June 1846 (probably when Peter died).
