    Notes
    • 1813 Dec 25: Joseph received land from his parents Joseph & Mary, in Augusta co, per the grantor's index. I have the 2 similar deeds for his brothers James & Thomas on the same date, but don't know how much land this Joseph received. This probably indicates that he was 16-21 at the time, or born between 1792 and 1797. Should check the Augusta tax lists to see when he appears.

1817: Father Joseph's will left son Joseph "my part of the land in Augusta Co lying on "Wakers" [Walkers] Mtn.

Apparently Joseph went to Indiana and bought land, which he later left to his children:
1831 Jan 3: Joseph Guin of Augusta Co, VA patented in Tippecanoe Co, Indiana:
80 acres (W half of NE qtr) in Sec 23 Twp 21-N Range 4-W, patent #12169
80 acres (W half of NE qtr) in Sec 25 Twp 21-N Range 4-W, #12170
80 acres (W half of NE qtr) in Sec 22 Twp 21-N Range 4-W, #12171
80 acres (E half of NW qtr) in Sec 22 Twp 21-N Range 4-W, #12172
Need to check Tippe. deeds to see what became of the first parcel and the portions of the other parcels that are not mentioned in his will.
