  • Notes
    • LINK TO PARENTS IS TENTATIVE, but we have found no other Wm born in Penrith at the right time, so it's probably right.

Might try Penrith, Carham parishes for a marriage for Wm & Isabella, as their marriage preceded civil registration. Marriage is not in George Bell's marriage index for Bishop Middleham through 1837 and is not in the parish register either. Also not in Bell index thru 1837 for Sedgefield. IGI has Auckland St. Andrew thru 1877; no mrg there. Dau. Isabella was born at Mindrum Mill (Carham, NBL) abt 1837; maybe they married there, since her mother was from there.

Names of William Wanless & Isabella Bell as the parents of William Wanless who married first Elizabeth Brown and second Gertrude Barthel came from his marriage certificate to Gertrude.

No match in GRO death index for Gateshead death.
