    Notes
    • Price names children Jacob, Daniel, William, Rebecca, Mary, and Sarah. [p.229

The only very early McCollum marriages in Bath Co are for Sarah's siblings listed in Price, plus bonds for Jean/Jane and Peggy, who are not listed in Price. Therefore I'm gambling that there was only one McCollum family in the area in the 1790s and that all these people marrying in the 1790s are siblings.
On Jean/Jane's bond in June 1792, John consents for his daughter. So I'm guessing that the ancestor was named John, not Daniel as Price suggests on p.229.
Elender McCollom consents to Peggy's marriage bond in Feb 1799, and Nelly consents to known daughter Rebecca's marriage in 1797, so I'm guessing that Eleanor/Nelly is John's wife and he's dead.

229 "was the son of a physician, a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, and lived in New Jersey. He came from New Jersey around 1770 and settled on Browns Mtn near Driscol". Price thinks his name was Daniel, but Bath Co marriage records and his will indicate that it was John, with wife Elenor. Birthdate guessed assuming he was at least 20 at marriage.

John is listed in July 1795.
