    • Archibald was a shepherd and lived at Westwilkwood near the border at the foot of the Cheviot hills; he also lived at Midleys and Cottonshope and attended church at Harbittle (Harbottle?) His wife name was Mary Rutherford. He died in Scotland, George came to this country in the year 1817 and died in Ohio about 1858. Richard, my father, came to this country with 3 sisters- Mary Taylor, Nelly Rutherford, and Isabella Outhard in the year 1819. Another sister Betty Cranston came to the state of New York and moved to Toronto, Canada some time between 1830 and 1840, we think. There were 3 sisters left in Scotland - Jane, Margaret and Susanna.       There are some unaccounted-for Rothbury district deaths that should be looked into some time - may be from this family or maybe not.
