Letter from Sir William Wanless to Mohandas K. Gandhi and Gandhi's response, 1931 (3 pages)
Written en route to London on the ship Moldavia on 19 Apr 1931, this letter reminds Mr. Gandhi that Dr. Wanless had treated him for apoplexy in 1927 at Nefarie and reports that Dr. Wanless had returned to India after his retirement to open the Wanless Tuberculosis Sanitorium near Miraj in 1930. I do not have the 3rd page of this letter, but apparently Sir Wm asked Gandhi to make a monetary donation to the hospital in Miraj, because Gandhi writes a polite refusal.
