This database starts with John Wanless & Jean Marshall who are probably the parents of George (born in the early 1730s) and grandparents of John through a different son whose name may be William. They are probably related to the Wanless family of Auchope farm in Tree #2. Their tombstones are close together in the Yetholm Kirkyard. The last John's son George married George & Mercime's granddaughter Ellen Wanless, who was also his 2nd(?) cousin. Thus these 2 branches of the Wanless family are joined by marriage at least twice.
