This database contains about 50 family lines (443 people, 143 families) of Wanlesses who were born or married in Dundee, Angus, Scotland in the 1600s through early 1900s. Our goal is to connect them into a few primary lines (or better yet, one line!). A few of the larger families are listed below; the rest can be found in the Surname and Name indexes. Naturally, some families moved around, especially between Dundee, Edinburgh, and Perth.

To find someone in particular, use the Surname list to find who you're looking for, and check all spellings of Wan(d)less, as the older records spelled it many strange ways.

This database was constructed by extracting all the Dundee records from the Scots Records database (which is entirely built from transcribed primary sources such as parish registers), birth & marriage records from parish records in the "Romeril film" (see the Raw Data page for an explanation), and census records.

This database has been cleaned of dates for living people, but names are still present.
